You made it to the third and final night of the dream challenge. I hope you’ve enjoyed the challenge so far and that you’ve gotten a lot out of it.
Tonight, we’re going to continue with the theme of connection. Like any relationship, your relationship with your dreams is not a one-way street. And tonight we’ll connect with our dreams in a different way.
Let me ask you this: When you’re interested in someone and want to know more about them, what do you do? One thing you could do is ask that person a question. Asking questions is a great way to get to know someone and to connect with them on a deeper level.
The same principle works with your dreams. To build a deeper connection with your dreams, you can ask your dreams a question.
Tonight, I challenge you to
Ask Your Dreams a Question
Dream research shows that by setting a dream intention (aka – asking a question), you can influence the content of your dreams. I’ve experienced this myself and I know many others who have done this as well.
How to Ask Your Dreams a Question
First, you need to decide what area of your life you’d like guidance on or where you’d like to receive dream wisdom. You may have a specific area of your life where you’d like some clarity – such as in your career, personal life, health, spirituality, or finances. Otherwise, you can ask a more general question. One of my favorites is, “what do I need to know for my life right now?”
Once you have your question in mind, you’re ready to ask your dreams. As you lay in bed tonight, simply repeat your question silently in your head as you fall asleep. Don’t worry if you notice your mind wandering. Simply bring your attention back to your question until you fall asleep.
In the morning, record your dreams and relate them back to your question or intention.
Not all dream questions are created equal. Properly phrasing your question will give you better results. Here are some general guidelines for asking a dream question:
- Choose an area of your life where you would like to receive guidance
- Ask an open-ended question
- Avoid “yes” or “no” questions
- Don’t ask a question you already know the answer to
- Avoid overly specific questions
