I ❤ Rock Friends

rock friends

Weehee… I have 12 new “rock friends” in my life and so excited. I’m somewhat new to crystals – it’s been a kind of long-forgotten passion…

Until yesterday, when I had a powerful vision while hanging out with my rock-loving friend, Tiffany { not to be confused with my rock friends, who are actual rocks }:

We were nerding out, on a documentary series about aliens & the secret space program when she handed me one of her rock friends – a multicolored, but predominately green sphere.  I don’t recall the name of it, but I do recall that it’s a stone of joy.

I soon as I have it in my hands, a lost memory from childhood flashes in my mind.  I am filled with the joy of being a kid and seeing rocks in the shop.  An 8-year old me is fascinated with amethyst geodes and I remember my love for stones.  All at once I am overwhelmed with this feeling that it’s time to bring some rock friends into my life.

rock friends - face 2

This afternoon, I braved a blustery wind and drove to a local crystal shop with the intention of picking out some rocks.  In the past I’ve found it difficult to navigate rock shops.  I get overwhelmed with the vast array and variety of stones.  This usually puts a quick stop to my rock-buying experience.

Today I decided it would be different.  I wouldn’t succumb to my urge to run away when I feel overwhelmed.  I decided to stay with the discomfort and stick to my mission:  I would get whatever rocks I felt drawn to.

I picked up stones, played with them, and palmed the ones that felt right.  Some rocks called me right away and it was instantly clear that we were going home together.  I held others in my hand and danced with their energy for a while before finally putting them on my rock tray.

I ended up with 10 stones, a selenite slab, and a moldavite ring.  Each one of these beautiful stones came into my life at the perfect moment…

Meet my new Rock Friends

I feel so much joy having these stones – they are so beautiful and I feel the powerful energy they embody.  These are the stones I got {starting with the large, spotted one and moving clockwise}:

  • Ocean Jasper
  • Green Aventurine
  • Lapis Lazuli
  • Kambaba Jasper
  • Blue-green obsidian
  • Rhodonite
  • Tiger’s Eye
  • Dioptase/Shattuckite/Chrysocolla

In the middle we have Green Calcite and Cavansite.  And they are all sitting on a Selenite base.

Dioptase/ Shattuckite/ Chrysocolla

This is one of my initial favorites.  As I held it and examined its beauty, I was overcome with a deep understanding that it’s so beautiful because it’s a composite of three different stones.

One of the lessons this stone has for me is about beauty in blending.  Something that’s been up for me lately is that, like the stone, I am a blend of three ethnicities, and I haven’t always appreciated that.

There’s even more synchronicity with this stone too… because Chrysocolla was used by the Native Americans to bring strength & calming energy.  And part of my ethnic blend is Native American.

This is the first stone I picked out. A stone of the heart – It’s all about emotional healing, healing relationships, and releasing a blocked heart chakra.  If there’s anything blocking me from living my life fully in love, I’m ready to release it.

Kambaba Jasper

Kambaba Jasper

I was initially attracted to the patterns in this stone and through my research I learned that Kambaba Jasper is made of microcrystalline quartz and stromatolites – which are ancient, fossilized colonies created by blue-green algae and other primeval microorganisms. How cool is that!

The Stromatolites are over 3 Billion years old and are the oldest known fossils – containing the earliest records of life on Earth.  It’s metaphysical properties are peace & tranquility.

Ocean Jasper

The synchronicities keep rolling in.  When I picked up this stone, I already had the Kambaba Jasper on my tray and I hesitated to get two Jaspers.  But Ocean Jasper wanted to come home with me and there was no getting around it.  I love the way it feels in my hand and I can easily get lost in its intricate beauty.

In my research, I learned that this stone is also called the Atlantis Stone.  And here’s where the synchronicity comes in:  This is now my third encounter with Atlantis. My second encounter was last month – another friend shared a book with me called “Earth Angels” by Doreen Virtue.  In which I learned that I am an Atlantean.

My first encounter was last year, when I had a conscious dream in which I was swimming through the amazon with a crocodile as my guide.  I sunk down in the water and found myself at the bottom of the ocean.  In front of me, I could see golden buildings and temples – the lost city of Atlantis.

I hear you Universe… I’m off to learn more about Atlantis and other lost civilizations.

Moldavite is a stone of transformation.  I’m all about transformation – particularly, transforming darkness into light.  I’ve experienced a lot of darkness and it’s time to transform that into light.

I mean – I’m enrolled in a life coaching program that’s motto is, “Train to Transform.”  I’m calling in transformation on many levels.  I *LOVE* that this stone is here to assist me.

Wrapping it up

All I can do is { smile }.  These stones are bringing great joy into my life and I’m ready to learn whatever they have to teach me.  If you’re curious about stones and want to start working with them, my best advice is to not over-think it.  Just get what you’re drawn to and figure out why later.

Thank you to my beautiful rock-loving friend, Tiffany, for sharing this gift with me.
